Let’s talk about Anxiety

Do you ever have one of those days? You know the one’s, you can’t seem to get the racing thoughts to stop swirling around in your head.

It’s enough to make you want to scream into a pillow isn’t it? If only you could catch a break and be able to get on with your day in peace….

But nope, those anxious thoughts just keep on coming, it’s almost like your mind is moving faster then you can even process.

What is happening?!?!? You might ask yourself.

Sound familiar? If so, I want you to know I completely understand.

It feels like, as a woman, there is just so much to think about, know about, care about, look after, it’s like the list never gets smaller.

If you’re anything like me, you’re someone who is highly empathetic, big time sensitive, and just wants to make everyone around you feel happy and at ease.

But, what about you? Where do you fall in the mix? You might have an intuitive sense that you’re in need of some support but you have no idea where to start and who to turn to.

Even though you’re surrounded by people in your life you might feel completely alone, with nobody to talk to, nobody that could possibly understand what you’re going through.

You might even wonder “who am I to be struggling with anxiety,” look at my life, I have so much to be grateful for.

This is what tends to happen my friend, we discount or minimize our own needs thinking “what do I have to be sad about? There are other people out there that have it so much worse than I do.”

I’ve been there too, you’re not alone in that feeling. That’s what makes dealing with anxiety so challenging and why it can feel so isolating. Your mind starts holding you captive, convincing you that you don’t need support, that you aren’t worthy of seeking it, and you should just be happy with what you have.

And, there is always something said about being grateful, I am sure you are so thankful for all that you have.

But that doesn’t mean you have to continue living your life on the anxiety hamster wheel, there is another way, I promise you that.

But before I share it, let me ask you if any of these statements sound familiar. No shame or judgment here, this is a gentle opportunity for you to pause and take a moment to self reflect:

I have nobody to talk to…

Nobody seems to understand what I am going through…

Life feels like its never going to get better…

How do I make this anxiety stop?

I don’t know who I am anymore…

I thought I would be further along in my life…

I don’t know where to start…

I just wish I could have a moment to myself…

If any of these thoughts have crossed your mind I want to validate that experience for you, I want you to know I see you, I hear you, I understand.

I used to struggle with anxiety too, I still do sometimes.

You might be thinking “but you’re a Therapist, how is that possible?”

Here is the thing, anxiety is a human emotion, you’re going to experience it from time to time, it’s inevitable.

BUT, it doesn’t have to be holding you hostage day in and day out, there is another way to live.

And you, you are worthy of living that life.

If you have made it this far I am sure you’re wondering how I might be able to help you move through this anxiety.

Allow me a moment to share a little bit about myself, what I do and how I practice and we can take it from there.

No pressure though, I promise you that.

My name is Denise Marie, I am a Licensed Therapist working out of Georgetown, ON.

I am a kind, caring, empathetic and compassionate practitioner who is highly skilled at working with women struggling with anxiety.

Yep, you heard that right, I only work with women.

Why you might ask? That is my area of specialty, it is where I have seen the most success in my practice and it’s what I am truly passionate about.

Remember when I said I used to struggle with anxiety? I too had to take the brave step and go through therapy.

Want to know what happened? It changed the trajectory of my entire life, things are completely different, I am so much more self-assured and wise that I once was.

I felt broken before, like there was something wrong with me. I was just going through the motions of life but I definitely wasn’t living it.

The anxiety was debilitating….

I wasn’t even a Therapist back then, I found this incredible career path through that experience.

Wild how life works right?

I fought myself tooth and nail, I talked myself out of Therapy 1348345789236324897 times it felt like.

But it came to the point where “enough was enough” I couldn’t live like this anymore, I couldn’t take it…

So I found a Therapist that was the right fit for me, put one foot in front of the other, and made myself a priority.

You can do that too, I know you can.

When we work together you feel a deep sense of connection, you will no longer have to feel alone, you will gain the tools you need to manage those pesky anxious thoughts and start living a life that feels good to live.

One that feels like it’s yours, no longer feeling the need to pretend to be someone you’re not.

Learning to be YOU is the greatest gift you can give yourself.

I could take for hours about all the benefits of our working together but I would prefer we connect face to face so we can meet and see if we’re a good fit.

Because finding the right Therapist is always going to be about FIT, you need to feel safe and secure.

I should mention that I work 100% online! Makes getting to your Therapy appointments that much easier! No commute needed, come as you are, wherever you are.
